History: Emie was born to an unusual couple, David Vance and Ardeth Fields, a pair of muggle hippies. They were always free spirits, not believing in marriage or other typical standards set out by society. They sought out to raise their daughter with the same laid back attitude towards life. War was simply out of the question, something to stand up against, as equality was the only road to peace. They opened up a handmade craft shop in Glastonbury, the isle of Avalon. This was a happening groovy place for the free-spirited family, as many of their kind would come and toke up while waiting for the return of Merlin, who, to this day, is still keeping them waiting. Silly muggles.
David and Ardeth did love each other, but they felt they would love each other more if they could explore relationships with others. They felt tying each other down would only end up suffocating their romance and that by bed hopping they would achieve an enlightened state of happiness. If only everyone could come up with such elaborate excuses for infidelity. Nevetheless, some would argue that this example or home life was not the best influence on Emmeline, as she seems to have adopted their flirtatious ‘unbecoming’ ways.
Ardeth is an artist. If you ask her what kind of artist, she will give you a cock-eyed look and repeat that she. . . is an artist. What form of art she chooses to express herself in should not define her being. Emie at times found it difficult to communicate with her mother. Whether it was the woman’s out to lunch attitudes or the constant tapping of her ‘tambourine of love’, one cannot surely say.
When Emmeline received her acceptance letter to Hogwarts, her parents were incredibly thrilled. Glastonbury had rubbed off on their child, in their eyes, and she would now get the chance to bring Merlin home. This of course was a slightly ridiculous view to be had, but Emmeline smiled and nodded all her way to the train. No, despite her childhood Emie did not believe that the great and wonderous Merlin would be awaiting her at Hogwarts, but she was surprised to see him on a chocolate frog trading card along the way. Irony is the laughter of life.
Sorted into Hufflepuff, Emmeline quickly made to fit in with the rest of her classmates, while still managing to stand out. She walked to her own tune, that is for sure, and she remains doing so even now. In her fourth year she made the Hufflepuff quidditch team as a seeker, which really just baffled everyone. How can someone with so little concentration manage to catch a tiny gold ball against all elements? Well, truth is, she has her good days and her bad days. Sometimes her skill is impeccable, quick precision that should be admired. While other times. . .you could swear she is just floating about singing a jingle to some muggle commercial while the game just passes her by.
Disclaimer: I do not own the character Emmeline Vance, she belongs to JK Rowling and all other affiliated with the Harry Potter series. I am not delusional and think that I am Emmeline Vance either, this journal is used for
